Sedalia MO – Erich Mietenkorte of Team Lapua captured3rd at the Conrad Bernhart Cup Silhouette Championships in Pe Ell Washington with a score of 142X160

Mietenkorte competed the weekend of April 26–27 at the annual championship hosted by the Pe Ell Sportsmen’s Club, where some of the nation’s best marksmen gathered for a weekend of precision and competition. The Standard Rifle Championship took place Saturday, featuring two 40-shot matches. On Sunday, the action continued with two 40-shot Silhouette Hunting Rifle matches.

“I finished 3rd in Master Class and 4th overall with a 142x160, shooting Lapua Midas+ matched to my rifle at the Rimfire Performance Center in Mesa,” Mietenkorte shared. “Just a few points separated the top shooters, and it made for an exciting weekend.”

Smallbore silhouette shooting is a true test of accuracy and consistency, requiring competitors to engage steel targets placed at 40, 60, 77, and 100 meters—all from the standing offhand position. The discipline not only challenges a shooter's aim and balance but also adds the variable of wind, which can shift both the bullet’s trajectory and the shooter's stance.
