Houston, TX –— Houston Safari Club Foundation (HSCF) is proud to announce that Dr. Pete Coppolillo, Executive Director of Working Dogs for Conservation, will be the featured guest on an upcoming episode of Hunting Matters, HSCF’s official podcast.
With a career spanning more than two decades, Dr. Coppolillo brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in conservation biology, anti-poaching initiatives, and wildlife protection. As the leader of Working Dogs for Conservation (WD4C), Pete has helped expand the organization’s global impact through the innovative use of detection dogs. WD4C’s work focuses on four key areas: Ecological Monitoring, Wildlife Law Enforcement, Biosecurity, and Environmental Justice.
In this episode, Dr. Coppolillo will discuss how specially trained detection dogs are combating wildlife trafficking, supporting conservation efforts around the world, and enhancing environmental justice. Dr. Coppolillo’s experience spans continents, with conservation projects in Africa, North America, and South America. A fluent Swahili speaker, he has worked extensively in Tanzania, founding the Ruaha Landscape Program for the Wildlife Conservation Society. His leadership at WD4C has resulted in major organizational growth, and his passion for dogs and conservation continues to drive groundbreaking initiatives worldwide.
