MINNEAPOLIS, MN – One of Utah’s larger law enforcement agencies has begun an official test and evaluation (T&E) process of Viridian’s cutting-edge weapon-mounted technology. With 130 sworn officers, including specialized units such as SWAT and members of the U.S. Marshals Task Force, the agency is rigorously testing Viridian’s HS1 Hand Stop Laser and 4LUX 2K DUO laser/light combo.

The department’s officers have already put the HS1 to extensive use in real-world conditions, reporting zero issues and consistently positive feedback. The HS1’s unique integration of ergonomic support and precision green laser targeting has impressed both tactical and patrol users alike.

In addition, the department is currently evaluating the 4LUX 2K DUO, a revolutionary dual-purpose tactical light and laser combo. Initial response has been overwhelmingly positive, with one officer stating he is "absolutely in love with the laser and the effectiveness of the integrated flashlight." Feedback also included a request for even more button programming flexibility—a testament to the device’s active deployment and attention to detail from experienced users.

The agency recently requested an extension of their T&E period to allow additional officers the opportunity to evaluate the equipment. Viridian has granted the extension, reflecting its commitment to providing top-tier tools that meet the rigorous standards of law enforcement.

This T&E was initiated after an officer conducted an independent search for the “best green laser for rifle” and discovered Viridian through a third-party review. The HS1, in particular, has drawn strong interest from the agency’s SWAT team and is under consideration for an initial procurement of approximately 20 units pending final approval.
