Lipsey’s Partners with Athlon Outdoors

Baton Rouge, LA - Lipsey’s, a nationally renowned firearms distributor, and Athlon Outdoors, publisher of the firearms industry’s most notable magazine titles, have partnered to create an innovative distribution platform for firearms and sporting goods dealers across America.

With growing resistance from grocery store chains and big box stores to carry firearms products and topically related items, it was only a matter of time to rethink the distribution model of gun and outdoor lifestyle magazines. Tangible firearms related magazine content is in high demand but has grown hard for consumers to find in shrinking outlets.

Enter an all new web-based program launched at SHOT Show 2019 between Lipsey’s and Athlon Outdoors. This retail magazine program provides Athlon Outdoors a firearms friendly bridge to the gun dealers in all 50 states that will be exclusively supported by the Lipsey’s team. The program includes nearly a dozen top publications for a reasonable annual fee with lucrative monetary and promotional incentives for the dealer.

The program was spawned by Laurie Lipsey Aronson, Lipsey’s President and CEO, and Nick Seifert, Vice President, Group Publisher and Content Director, with Athlon Outdoors. The two were in mutual agreement that a better solution to address this growing big box exodus was needed. When asked about the program, Laurie had this to say, “Lipsey’s is a proponent of supporting our industry in as many ways as possible. That’s what brought this partnership to life so quickly. We have a chance to offer great products and revenue opportunities to our customer base while becoming more independent from anti-gun retailers. Great things ahead with Nick and his team at Athlon!”

Titles for the launch will include multiple copies of Ballistic, Tactical Life, Combat Handguns, Personal Defense World, Guns of the Old West, American Frontiersman, Skillset, Survivor’s Edge, Reloading Magazine and Gun Primer.
