QUWF Endowment Provides Three Scholarships at College of the Ozarks

Buffalo, MO: Working to secure our future for wildlife habitat, wildlife populations and clean streams, we all must invest in the next generation of leaders. They not only must be trained with professionalism, biological knowledge, and core values but must truly understand the family and ethical values of our landowners, ranchers and farmers. College of the Ozarks provides a Christian based foundation to build on that does just that. “We began our endowment to help students in Conservation and Wildlife studies, Ecology, Agricultural Development and Field Biology. Thanks to our generous Quail and upland Wildlife Federation (QUWF) chapters, in 2021 three scholarships were award to deserving students” states Craig Alderman, QUWF Executive Director. “Further, the effects of COVID 19 limited many students from working through college and put a strangle hold on needed finances for books and other school expenses. We are very proud to assist our future leaders with the QUWF endowment and will endeavor to increase its value so more students can have the help they deserve” Alderman explained.

College of the Ozarks is one of the top-rated Christian schools in the United States, teaching values of faith, family and country. They are well known for their title “Work U” wherein student education is paid for by the students themselves working the entire time on and off campus. They graduate with little or no debt.

“College education is a financial elephant and getting worse in all fields of study. We understand the challenges. QUWF wants the best leaders possible in wildlife conservation and related fields. Supporting the College of the Ozarks with the QUWF Endowment is our way of giving back and investing in the next generation. We feel they are students, faculty and staff with the right combination of values, ethics, skills and faith that our country truly needs” states Nick Prough, Chief Wildlife Biologist of QUWF.
