The Tree Stand Safety Awareness (TSSA) Foundation is pleased to announce that the Board of Directors approved at its July meeting the new ABC’s of Hunting Saddle Safety and revisions to the ABCs of Tree Stand Safety.
The release of the hunting saddle safety ABCs is the culmination of about 18 months of work with multiple companies and organizations including the National Bowhunter Education Foundation (NBEF), Tethrd, XOP Outdoors, Hunter Safety System, HuntStand, and the International Hunter Education Association – USA. “This is just one example of the great work that can be achieved when bringing together many partners from across the industry through a common goal of safety for hunters hunting from an elevated position,” said Glen Mayhew, President of TSSA.
Randy Schofield, Director of Manufacturing and Engineering of XOP Outdoors said, “we would like to thank TSSA, Tethrd and Hunter Safety System, for their joint efforts in creating the ABC’s of Hunting Saddle Safety. The number one priority for XOP as a manufacturer of saddle hunting and tree stand hunting products, is user SAFETY. We are honored to work with such great industry partners.”
"At Tethrd, hunter safety has always been our top priority. We appreciate the important work of the Tree Stand Safety Awareness Foundation and were honored to contribute to this meaningful initiative." Dan Chumbler, CEO of Tethrd
The Board also approved some minor revisions of the ABC’s of Tree Stand Safety to better align language and provide clarity on the critical steps for tree stand safety. The Board is appreciative of the work with the Tree Stand Manufacturer’s Association and the NBEF in revising the language.
