SPARTA (IL) -Marking yet another year of support, The Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA) is pleased to announce Winchester Ammunition’s sponsorship of the US Open, Grand American, & AIM Grand Championships! The ATA is honored to have the continued patronage of Winchester Ammunition for decades. Winchester continues to be a key ammunition provider at these events, supplying shooters with their Top Performance AA shotshells and the legendary, consistent performance of the Super-Target shotshells.
The 121st Grand American World Trapshooting Championships will be held August 5-15, 2020, at the WSRC in Sparta, IL. Winchester generously sponsors Event #15, known as the Winchester AA Class Singles Event. This event will take place on Monday, August 10th. In addition, Winchester sponsors the Super 500 Singles. These events include all singles events held through the duration of preliminary week. This year, preliminary week runs from August 5th -10th.
Immediately prior to the Grand American is the AIM Grand National Championships. This year’s event will be held July 31-August 4, 2020 at the WSRC in Sparta, IL. Winchester is a Title Sponsor of AIM, the ATA’s official youth program. Demonstrating their continued support for youth programs, Winchester sponsors Event #3, The Handicap Championship. Continuing with tradition, Winchester will again be providing a pizza party for all participants to enjoy.
This year, the US Open will be held on September 9-13, 2020 at the World Shooting & Recreational Complex (WSRC) in Sparta, IL. Winchester graciously sponsors Event #10, the US Open Singles Championship. The Singles Championship will be held on Saturday, September 12th. This event also hosts over 200 youth shooters from the Southern Illinois Youth Sport Shooting Association (SIYSSA), a program dedicated to promoting trapshooting and other shooting activities for the youth of Southern Illinois.

In March, Winchester invited the ATA’s Executive Director, Lynn Gipson and the Marketing Department to visit the Olin and Winchester Campus, Winchester Gun Club, and NILO Farms. Winchester’s Trap and Skeet facility is open to the public with trap, skeet, and combination fields.
