NMMA Releases Paycheck Protection Program Resource

Congress and the Trump administration indicated yesterday that they are moving quickly to approve additional funding for the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) – a program established by the $2 trillion economic stimulus bill, which originally authorized up to $349 billion in forgivable loans to businesses to pay their employees during the COVID-19 crisis. In response, NMMA applauded the move and echoed the concerns of Congress and the administration that the current PPP funding level is insufficient.

With lawmakers in Washington, D.C. working to shore up PPP, NMMA is urging recreational boating industry stakeholders to apply for the program. NMMA has compiled instructions on how to apply for PPP, which are available here.

While the initial rollout of PPP caused some confusion, Congress and the administration have reacted quickly to address the underlying issues. Additionally, NMMA has conveyed the industry’s challenges and concerns with the PPP process to policymakers.

NMMA has outlined additional federal, state, local, international and outdoor recreation resources at nmma.org/coronavirus. If you have questions, please email NMMA’s COVID-19 task force at taskforce@nmma.org.
