Outdoor Channel’s Life on the Edge Chronicles Extreme Off-Grid Lifestyles

Outdoor Channel Deal Struck with the Producers of Hit Series – “Ice Airport Alaska” – Comes to Network in 2023

DENVER December 5, 2022 – Welcome to the “Wild West of the Last Frontier” – the Aleutian Islands. This Outdoor Channel original docu-series – Life on the Edge – chronicles the lives of fearless homesteaders and daring American entrepreneurs as they live off-the-grid in some of the harshest and most unforgiving terrain in the world. The original series will air in September 2023.

Life on the Edge focuses on adventure seekers that have opted to live a solitary life in some of the most remote, inaccessible and extreme conditions on the face of the Earth. It is in this exact environment that these hearty souls, who built their own infrastructures and life off-the-grid, choose to live in radically different ways.

“Outdoor Channel’s Life on the Edge will bring viewers to places that few have ever gone, or would dare to go,” Outdoor Sportsman Group Vice President of Planning and Scheduling Katie Gladstone said. “The stories of these American adventure seekers will prove daunting, foolish, exciting and inspiring to our viewers.”

The series features Americans who have identified this island archipelago as a land teeming with opportunity. The men and women in the show are determined to show the rest of the world new ways of living and working to protect the planet. Whether it is through harnessing the geothermal power of volcanos or off-grid settlers constructing self-sustaining dwellings in the most isolated, beautiful and unforgiving environments, the show and its characters are a range of wild and extraordinary storytellers who call Kodiak (America’s second largest island), Unalaska (America’s busiest fishing port), Umnak (home to America’s most remote cowboys) and Thinpoint (literally, the most remote homestead in America) home.

“It’s the real deal and it’s going to be a straight 100 percent adrenaline rush from start to finish. If you’re not willing to get wet, cold, a little wind and rain in your face and the sh*t scared out of you, don’t come out here,” Captain Charlie Summerville warns. “Every day, I live on the edge.”
