Hovey Lake Fish & Wildlife Area office to relocate

Hovey Lake Fish & Wildlife Area office to relocate

Hovey Lake Fish & Wildlife Area (FWA) will relocate its property office during the last week of September. The office is currently located in the Ohio River floodplain and is susceptible to flooding. The new site is out of the floodplain.

The office will close Sept. 23 and reopen for visitors Sept. 30 at the new location.

The office’s new address will be:
8401 State Road 69 S.
Mount Vernon, IN 47620

DNR encourages the public to stop by the office to learn more about the property and the unique outdoor opportunities available. Visitors will be able to purchase hunting and fishing licenses and federal duck stamps at the office. Office hours will remain the same (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. CT).

All property draws and reserved hunt check-ins will take place at the new office location including waterfowl, dove, turkey, and trapping opportunities. More information on these draw opportunities can be found on the Hovey Lake FWA webpage at on.IN.gov/hoveylakefwa. Specific information about reserved hunts is at on.IN.gov/reservedhunt.
