Whitetails Unlimited Provides Grant To Doddridge County, West Virginia 4-H

Whitetails Unlimited has awarded a $1,000 grant to the Doddridge County, West Virginia 4-H Shooting Sports program. During the past year Whitetails Unlimited has awarded more than $80,000 to local 4-H Shooting Sports Programs throughout the country. The Doddridge program consists of 16 youth and eight coaches that plan to represent West Virginia at the National 4-H Shooting Sports Invitational in Grand Island, Nebraska June 23-28.

The shooting sports program is one of the most popular 4-H projects with more than 300,000 youth involved every year. In most states it has the largest enrollment of all projects. Youth in the program learn marksmanship, safe and responsible use of firearms, principles of hunting and archery, and much more. The activities of the program and the support of caring adult leaders provide young people with opportunities to develop life skills, self-worth, and conservation ethics.

“Our partnership with 4-H started over 25 years ago and it continues to grow every year,” says Whitetails Unlimited Program Services Director Russ Austad.
