In response to President Biden's recently announced gun control agenda, Young Americans for Liberty (YAL)—the nation’s leader in defending the Second Amendment on the state level—is officially speaking out. Since 2019, YAL has introduced anti-“red flag” legislation to seven state legislatures, while also helping pass constitutional carry—a law allowing citizens to carry firearms without a license or permit—in Iowa, Kentucky, Montana, and Oklahoma.

“President Biden’s plan and his focus on 'red flag' laws would amount to one of the worst measures for the Second Amendment that America has ever seen, making our country less safe and less free. Despite 19 states and Washington, D.C. already having red flag laws, they seem to have no impact on reducing gun violence. What we have seen instead is law enforcement using those laws to shoot innocent Americans in an attempt to confiscate their weapons—such as the tragedy of Duncan Lemp in March.”
