Indiana: Spring Mill SP hosts craft spirits tasting experience

Spring Mill State Park is partnering with Spring Mill Inn and Lawrence County Tourism to host a craft spirits tasting experience on Nov. 16 from 4 to 8 p.m. in its Pioneer Village.

Enjoy distilled spirits like bourbon, whiskey, and more with appetizer pairings by a crackling wood fire while enjoying the music of Stony Point. Distillers currently participating include Donum Dei, Dusty Barn, Old 55 Distillery, Spirits of French Lick, MGP, Hard Truth Distillery, West Fork Distillery, and Cardinal Distillery. More may be added.

At 5 p.m. Alan Bishop, head distiller at Spirits of French Lick Distillery in West Baden, will present “The History of Distilling in Hoosier Occupied Northern Kentucky: The Black Forest of Indiana.” Spirits of French Lick Distillery distills bourbon, brandies, botanical spirits, and American whiskey.

Cost for the event is $50 per person, and reservations must be made in advance through Spring Mill Inn. Call 812-849-4508 for details and to make reservations. Inn and campground packages, including special ticket rates, are available.

Attendees must be 21 with a valid photo ID, and people driving in on the day of the event must have a designated driver. Shuttle service will be provided for those registered at the Inn and the campground.
