Jeff Morrison Joins SCTP/SSSF as Director of Development

Scholastic Clay Target Program National Director Tom Wondrash announced on Monday, September 16, 2019 that NW Iowa’s Jeff Morrison will be the new SCTP Director of Development for the Western United States. Jeff recently retired from the state of Iowa as a DNR Conservation officer and is looking forward to his newest ventures as an SCTP/SSSF employee!

“We are thrilled to have Jeff join the SCTP staff” stated Wondrash. “Jeff has been a part of the SCTP program for over 9 years and brings significant leadership, head coaching, and training skills to our team”.

Jeff, a 1984 graduate from Iowa State University with a BS in Fisheries and Wildlife Biology has served the sportsmen of Iowa for the last 33 years as a Conservation Officer for the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.

In 2010 Jeff was part of a group that started the Lakes Area Youth Trap Club (LAYTC). The Lakes Area Youth Trap Club currently has 74 athletes that competed last season. Jeff’s roles with LAYTC included 9 years as a Coach, acting Head Coach and a member of the LAYTC Board.

Jeff is an NRA Level 2 Coach, NSCA Level 1 Instructor, NSSA Level 1 Instructor, NRA Level 1 Pistol Coach and a Member of the NRA National Coach Development Staff. In addition, Jeff has been certifying coaches in the Iowa Basic Shotgun Coach’s Course and NRA Level 1 Coach Course since 2012.

At the recent internal announcement Jeff stated. “I am very excited to become the Western U.S. Director of Development and look forward to working with Tom and the entire SCTP and SSSF teams to nurture our existing athletes and add new teams and events to the program”.
