USCCA Training Broadcast on Protecting Houses of Worship

West Bend, WI – In the wake of too many tragedies at places of worship, including most recently at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh, the U.S. Concealed Carry Association (USCCA) has been ramping up its efforts to help educate and train responsibly armed Americans to better protect themselves if faced with an active shooter situation. Most recently, the USCCA conducted a 90-minute live training broadcast this past Monday evening that has already been viewed more than 50,000 times, across USCCA’s various media platforms, with a specific focus on protecting Houses of Worship.

These training videos have featured real people going through real-life potential scenarios and are posted to the USCCA YouTube channel, USCCA.com, and on social media such as Facebook and Twitter, for all to view moving forward.

These training videos have covered topics such as what to do when there is an active shooter in our church and what you can do to prepare, where your security team members should sit in the venue, tips on Deadly Force Decision Making, and the proper size of a house of worship security team, among other issues.

“With alarming frequency and tragic results, murderous maniacs have targeted innocent Americans in House of Worship and schools where they are often the most vulnerable and don’t have the ability to protect themselves. We’ve heard from many USCCA members who have wanted to learn more about specific steps they can take to better protect themselves and those around them if ever confronted with an active shooter situation and this new training series is designed to help do just that,” said Tim Schmidt, Founder & President of the United States Concealed Carry Association. “In countless situations across this country, concealed-carry permit holders have been on the front lines of defense against evildoers because they have the necessary knowledge, training and experience to protect those around them. As a society, we should be having an important conversation about whether we are truly doing everything possible to protect ourselves and those around us.”

These training videos have featured safety experts like Kevin Michalowski, Director of Content for USCCA and Ron Aguiar of Oasis Safety as they take church parishioners and security teams through training and actual scenarios through the use of Stress Vests and UTM ammunition. The trainings are completely free and can be viewed online by anyone interested in learning more about strengthening their personal safety.

The U.S. Concealed Carry Association (USCCA) provides education, training and self-defense protection to responsible American gun owners. Headquartered in West Bend, WI, the USCCA is the largest and fastest-growing association whose sole focus is the responsibly armed American.
