Travelers’ Rest State Park Announces Off-Season Hours Beginning Oct. 1

Travelers’ Rest State Park and visitor center near Lolo will move to reduced off-season hours beginning October 1, 2025.

From October through April, the visitor center will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday through Sunday and closed Monday through Wednesday. The additional Wednesday closure is a change this season due to lower than usual staffing levels. The visitor center will also be closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.

These off-season hours will stay in place through April 30, 2025; the visitor center might open on Wednesdays before April, once the park is fully staffed again.

Other areas of the park are open daily. The park entrance gate is open to vehicles daily from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., except on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Pedestrian entrances and park trails are open from sunrise to sunset every day of the year.

Travelers’ Rest State Park is a significant cultural site for the Séliš and Ql?ispé people, and a Lewis and Clark Expedition archaeologically verified campsite. The park hosts many public programs and helps to promote and sponsor local events related to the site’s history.
