Otter Tail County to Host National Walleye Tour Championship

Top 40 pro- and co-anglers are gearing up for the September 22-24, 2021 showdown

SPRINGFIELD, MO. (September 10, 2021) – The National Walleye Tour Presented by Bass Pro Shops & Cabela’s will host its championship event on Otter Tail Lake, Minnesota, September 22-24. The championship tournament features a must qualify, pro-am style format and guarantees over 100 percent payback.

Participants qualify for the year-end championship based on the top 40 pros and top 40 co-anglers from the AOY point standings. The last regular season event in the AOY race concluded on Lake Oahe July 30, making way for this group to meet again on Otter Tail Lake, MN

Registration will take place at Thumper Pond Resort (300 Thumper Lodge Rd, Ottertail, MN) and is set for 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. with the anglers meeting set to begin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 21. Pro- and co-angler pairings will be announced at the pre-tournament meeting. Anglers will launch Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings and return at 3 p.m. each day for weigh-in at Beach Bums Bar & Eatery (35776 Co Hwy 72, Battle Lake, MN).

Otter Tail Lake is the largest lake on the Otter Tail River chain of lakes and the county. NWT Championship organizers wish to thank the Otter Tail County development group for hosting the event. The NWT championship events will deliver to the first place pro-angler a prize package with a minimum total value of $106,000 including a fully rigged Ranger 620FS Pro Deep V boat with a 250 XL Pro XS FourStroke Mercury, plus - $30,000 cash. The second place pro will receive a fully-rigged Ranger 2080MS Deep V boat with a 250 XL Pro XS FourStroke Mercury and

$15,000 cash, a minimum total value of $80,000. First-place and second-place also offers Ranger Cup potential boat and motor upgrades. The first place co-angler will win a fully-rigged Ranger VS1882SC Angler with 150 XL Pro XS FourStroke Mercury and $6,000 cash. Total payouts will go to the top 20 of the 40 anglers in each division.


The National Walleye Tour includes unmatched television and media coverage, allowing a national audience to watch the action unfold from each event throughout the season. Airing on multiple national and regional networks, the NWT will be seen on the Pursuit Channel, CBS Sports Network, NBC SportsNet Chicago, Wild TV Canada, and the World Fishing Network. Additionally, NWT has a large digital presence where episodes can be seen 24x7 on Outdoor Action TV, Pursuit UP, Fishing TV, and others; plus all weigh-ins are streamed live on Outdoor Action TV, our website, and social media.
