Shimano Reps Honored with "Stella" and "Rep of Year" Awards

LADSON, S.C. – While new tackle and the upcoming ICAST Show were major topics for discussion at the Shimano North American Fishing, Inc.’s just completed national sales meeting, the tackle maker also uses the event to recognize key manufacturer reps. At the meeting, Shimano’s assistant vice president/sales Chris Brondell announced Daniel Schultz as the ‘Stella’ award honoree, and Russ Taylor as ‘rep of the year’ winner.

A Florida native and now covering freshwater retail accounts in Alabama and Georgia for the Don Coffey Company, Schultz’s ‘Stella’ award is based on his “exceptional dealer service, his commitment to the customer relationship management process, and his willingness to ownership to Shimano initiatives,” said Brondell. “While our ‘Stella’ award criteria is based mostly on how you represent yourself on behalf of Shimano with dealers, Daniel’s substantial increase in sales among his accounts since last year is another positive in his overall efforts.”

As winner of Shimano’s ‘rep of the year’ award, Arkansas-based rep Russ Taylor with Sportco Marketing is recognized for the sales growth among his account over last year. “Being with Sportco for just under two years, Russ quickly has grasped what Shimano brings to any and all types of anglers, which has obviously been reflected in the sales increases his efforts have achieved,” Brondell notes.
