Florida Skiff Challenge

Thursday, April 4 – Sunday, April 7, 2019

What began as a head-to-head battle for bragging rights has evolved into a daring feat to help shine a spotlight on Florida’s water crisis by those who’ve been directly affected by it—boat manufacturers.

These manufacturers will put their 18-foot skiffs and best teams to the ultimate endurance test, circumnavigating 1,300 miles around the state of Florida in a nonstop race from Pensacola to Jacksonville.

These four teams understand better than anyone that Florida’s economy—and $15 billion marine industry—ultimately rely on the health of the Everglades. They’re putting their butts in the seats to help share this message loud and clear: We want Florida’s waters fixed.

The solution is simple: store, clean, and send the water south. Governor Ron DeSantis has put forward a bold vision to restore the Everglades and our water quality. He’s asked the Legislature for $625 million per year to fund critical projects such as the EAA Reservoir. We need this investment to fix Florida’s waters and protect our way of life for future generations!

MEET THE TEAMS

Four teams have accepted the ultimate endurance test.

Skiff Challenge founder, Team Yellowfin, is taking on this feat for the fifth time. Team Hell’s Bay returns for their fourth race, hoping to clench their third consecutive championship title. Team Key West and Team Sea Pro are first-time contenders, hailing all the way from South Carolina.
