Al’s Goldfish Lure Company Exhibiting at New England Saltwater Fishing Show

ELIOT, Maine (March 6, 2023) — Al’s Goldfish Lure Company, designer and American-made manufacturer of the classic Goldfish lure and other innovative fishing lures and accessories, will be exhibiting at the 19th Annual New England Saltwater Fishing Show in Providence, R.I. The event takes place March 10-12 at the Rhode Island Convention Center.

Al’s Goldfish Lure Company will be among other top manufacturers presenting products and services dedicated to the diehard saltwater fishing enthusiasts. It is the largest show in the Northeast dedicated purely to this market. The show is open to the public, so if people like what they see, most exhibitors will be offering their products for sale on-site. Visitors will also be able to participate in great seminars, a kids casting area and other special activities.

“We encourage visitors at the show to stop by, because in addition to having our full line of American-made lures, bonnets and trolling rigs, and other accessories, we also will have some special guests at our booth who are ready to talk about how to make the most of their name-sake Al’s products, which were developed based on their testing and input”, said Al’s owner, Jeff DeBuigne.

On Saturday, March 11th, Todd Corayer, the Fish Wrap Writer, will be at Al’s booth. Todd is an outdoors communicator with a passion for angler advocacy and fishery management. While many of us are focused on getting on the water to enjoy our favorite pastime, Todd works to keep us informed of regulatory and special interest circumstances that can impact our ability to access and fish those waters. When Todd isn’t advocating for anglers and fisheries, he’s a dedicated angler himself, and the inspiration behind Al’s Saltwater Goldfish Fish Wrap Writer Special Edition. The Fish Wrap Goldfish comes in two sizes, 3/4 oz. for targeting species in skinny water, and 1-1/4 oz. for casting far past breakers or jigging deep for bottom fish. Todd designed the Fish Wrap color pattern – a green back which reflects light deep below the water’s surface for optimal visibility with a light underbelly, and black dots which imitate menhaden, a primary forage fish for all sorts of predatory fish species – to target species like striped bass, bluefish, sea bass, scup, cod and haddock.

On Sunday, March 12th, Mike Wec, known to his social media followers as “Wicked Wec”, will be at Al’s booth to talk about the Al’s product he inspired, the Wicked Wec Hi-Low Rig (WWHLR). Mike is well-known for being a hardcore outdoorsman, and the WWHLR is a prime example of Mike’s ingenuity to make the most of his time on the water. Mike developed a high-low rig using Saltwater Series Goldfish rigged on a double-drop mono, with a heavier Goldfish on bottom, and a lighter Goldfish on top. The flash and action of the Goldfish gets the attention of bottom species such as fluke, black sea bass, and even tautog. As a result of Mike's success with this setup, Al's made a ready-to-fish product and named it after him. "Wicked-Wec High-Low Rig” may be a bit of a mouthful, but it’s memorable and gives credit to our ambassador who promotes our products with such success,” said DeBuigne.

Drop by to talk tackle with Al’s experts, and as always, Al’s will also have show specials, so this is a great opportunity to stock up at great prices. Whether you are an avid fisherman looking for new accessories, an experienced angler looking to upgrade your tackle box or someone totally new to the sport of saltwater fishing that is looking to learn about the sport and get started, you will find everything you need at Al’s Goldfish Lure Company’s booth, #508. About Al’s Goldfish Lure Company

The company was launched in 1952 with a single pioneering spoon lure, known as Stuart’s Goldfish, named after founder Al Stuart. The company’s flagship lure was renamed Al’s Goldfish in 1954, and by 1973 the popularity of the Goldfish lure soared to nearly one million lures sold in a year. Along the way, other popular lures, such as the Forty-Niner and Helgy, and hook bonnet lure accessories were added to the company’s list of American-made products. In 2015 the line was expanded to include the Saltwater Goldfish series. In 2022, present owners Jeff and Mandy DeBuigne celebrated the 70-year anniversary of the Goldfish lure.
