Republican Direct Mail firm Caliber Contact, founded by Chris Cox, won two Pollie Awards for efforts to stop Colorado’s Proposition 127 at the American Association of Political Consultants annual conference on May 21, 2025. Dorsey Pictures provided creative assets for the award-winning campaign, including commercial spots Every Mother’s Worst Nightmare, Lion Attacks in the News and Life & Death. The commercial spots aired during peak viewing hours in Colorado and through social media with the goal of reaching undecided voters, particularly women.

The Pollie Awards are considered the Oscars of political advertising and recognize excellence in public affairs and political communications. The direct mail effort was part of Cox's Capitol 6 Advisors work on Proposition 127.

Colorado’s Proposition 127 would have made it illegal to hunt mountain lions, bobcats, or lynx in the state. The proposition was a major priority for anti-hunting groups, but thanks in part to efforts by Caliber Contact with creative support from Dorsey Pictures, the ballot effort failed 45%-55%.

Dorsey Pictures congratulates Caliber Contact for the prestigious awards and looks to build off of the winning strategy. “It will not be enough to only talk to sportsmen to win future wildlife referendums,” said CEO Chris Dorsey. “We must create messaging that speaks to women in particular on platforms and media they frequent.”
