CHARLES ‘SWANNY’ EVANS JOINS COUNCIL TEAM AS MANAGER OF PARTNERSHIPS

(Washington, D.C.) – The Council to Advance Hunting and the Shooting Sports is pleased to announce that Charles ‘Swanny’ Evans will join the Council team as Manager of Partnerships.

Swanny attended the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources at the University of Georgia where he earned his B.S. and M.S. in Wildlife Sciences and Forest Resources, respectively. In previous roles, he has worked in eight states and overseas focusing on everything from forest management plans to non-native ungulate eradication. In December of 2015 he took on the first state-level R3 Coordinator position developed under the direction of the National Hunting and Shooting Sports Action Plan. Over the past five years, he served as the R3 Coordinator, and then R3 Manager, for the State of Georgia acting as the strategic conduit between stakeholders from industry, agency, and non-governmental organizations to increase participation/diversity in and support for hunting. He has also served as a member of the award-winning National R3 Implementation Workgroup since 2018.

As the Manager of Partnerships for the Council to Advance Hunting and the Shooting Sports, Swanny will help to advance national R3 efforts, with a specific focus on serving the diverse group of conservation non-profit and industry partners.

“I'm passionate about flora, fauna, food, and firearms; I can't imagine a role better aligned with my personal and professional interests,” states Swanny, “I am looking forward to joining the Council team and working with all of our partners to ensure hunting and shooting sports are relevant and accessible across all sections of society.”

“Charles’ addition to our staff will complement the services we already offer state and federal fish and wildlife agencies by providing a lead for our non-profit and industry partners’ efforts. 2021 will bring a set of new challenges for all of our partners, and Charles and our other staff members will be ready to help partners move forward and retain participants in hunting, target shooting, and other outdoor recreation. We’re excited to have him join us,” stated Samantha Pedder, Director of Operations for the Council. To get in touch with Swanny, please reach out to him via email at Charles@cahss.org.
