Crossbow leader TenPoint Crossbow Technologies recently took home both awards in Outdoor Life’s annual crossbow test.
Best Overall Crossbow of 2025: TenPoint Tubo X
Great Buy: Wicked Ridge Invader M1 De-Cock
The Turbo X was also the most accurate crossbow in Outdoor Life’s test, finishing ahead of the Ravin LR and Excalibur Hybrid X. The Turbo X shot a 1.23-inch group average out of four, three-shot groups at 50 yards. In addition, the American-Built Invader M1 De-Cock, finished well ahead of competitor import models on the same accuracy test.
“We are flattered to be named both Best Crossbow and Great Buy,” said TenPoint CEO Phil Bednar. “In head-to-head testing against more expensive competitors, our $1,299 Turbo X delivered superior accuracy. And, as always, we're proud that our most affordable crossbows, like the Invader, are built right here in America, not overseas, giving our customers the accuracy and confidence that comes from American-built craftsmanship.”
According to Scott Einsmann from Outdoor Life, "The TenPoint Turbo X was the most accurate crossbow we tested this year. It’s also $870 cheaper than the second most accurate crossbow and $1,200 less than the fastest crossbow. It was one of the easiest to cock and de-cock and it shot very well in all field positions. When you add up those factors and our score sheets, we couldn’t deny the Turbo X as the 2025 Editor’s Choice winner."
The Turbo X is TenPoint’s fastest, lightest, and most accurate version of their long-standing Turbo crossbow. Shooting up to 415 FPS and weighing just 6.9-pounds, the Turbo X generates long-range accuracy out to 100-yards thanks to the combination of the S2 Trigger, Scope Struts, and RangeMaster™ 100 Scope. And to top it off, it comes equipped with the de-cocking system dealers recommend most – the ACUslide™.
On the Invader M1 De-Cock, Einsmann added, "The top two budget crossbows were equally accurate, but the Invader M1 was far easier to cock due to its integrated cocking mechanism. The Invader M1 De-Cock has TenPoint’s ACUdraw De-Cock built into it. It was one of the easiest crossbows we tested in terms of cocking effort. Other than the safety clicking on, the whole operation is silent and can be done in a treestand with little movement. De-cocking the crossbow is just as easy and silent.”
Shooting up to 390 feet-per-second, the American-Built Invader M1 De-Cock features the ACUdraw De-Cock and brings compact de-cocking to a lower price than ever at just $699. The Invader M1 De-Cock is equipped with a 70-yard lighted scope, and its lightweight, compact profile measuring 9.5-inches wide and 32-inches short provides more mobility and more shot opportunities in the field
The annual test from Outdoor Life includes crossbows with speeds from 375 FPS to 450 FPS and posted prices from $550 to $4,000. Each of them is thoroughly tested in areas such as speed, accuracy, cocking, and handling.
