Season 5 of “Dead Meat with Scott Leysath” Beginning November 6 on Sportsman Channel

Popular Series Shows Even Ugly Critters Can Taste Good; Saturdays at 12:30 p.m. ET

DENVER (November 4, 2021) – Food from wild animals can be sometimes strange, sometimes scary, but not inedible if properly prepped and cooked, which is what viewers will learn on the season premiere of Dead Meat with Scott Leysath on Saturday, November 6 at 12:30 p.m. ET on Sportsman Channel.

For many hunters and gatherers, the adage, “If it is worth killing, it is worth eating” is a life-long value, and a saying that some might shudder when considering dining on some of the “less-desirable” parts. Not long-time chef, hunter and TV host, Scott Leysath. Now entering its fifth season, Dead Meat promises even more edgy, outrageous and maybe scary, moments.

This season, the series visits Florida for a swamp buggy snipe hunt, and then learns a new twist on cooking snipe, plus they land in Puerto Rico to see if Iguanas do really taste like chicken. And what one may consider a delicacy in other cultures (enter: Hagfish) are downright slimy and gross, stateside. But Leysath is on a mission to find those people who make eating the less-desirable parts of animals, something they do on a daily basis.

“If you look up Hagfish, you’ll see it is something you don’t want to eat,” shared Leysath. “But that’s what Dead Meat is all about. If it exists and people are eating it, we want to learn about it.”

Listen to Leysath share what is on the table this season on Dead Meat on “The Revolution with Jim and Trav.”
