NCSSAA Announces Partnership with the National Wild Turkey Federation

Southlake, TX: Today, the National Collegiate Shooting Sports Athletic Association (NCSSAA), a program focused on the growth and protection of the long-standing history of competitive shooting sports, is pleased to announce a partnership with the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF).

“We are proud to partner with the National Collegiate Shooting Sports Athletic Association,” said NWTF co-CEO Jason Burckhalter. “Though our mission statements differ, we are working towards the same cause as funds generated from both hunting and the shooting sports are extremely vital to the conservation of our nation’s wildlife and the landscapes in which they live.”

The National Wild Turkey Federation has partnered with the NCSSAA as a Silver level sponsor. This year the NWTF is celebrating their 50th anniversary; therefore, on each day of Sporting Clays and Super Sporting, athletes will be taking 50 shots for 50 years of conservation. The NWTF has also graciously offered all athletes of NCSSAA member teams complimentary digital memberships to the NWTF. In addition, the NWTF has donated athletes the golf carts for both concurring events!

“The shooting sports are important to the conservation of the wild turkey and also to the future of hunting,” said Mandy Harling, NWTF national director of education and outreach. “Those who are active in the shooting sports are prime candidates for learning to hunt. Beyond that, both activities are simply a great way to spend time outdoors with family and friends.”

The National Wild Turkey Federation is dedicated to the conservation of the wild turkey and the preservation of our hunting heritage. Since 2012, the NWTF has conserved or enhanced over 5.2 million acres, recruited or retained over 1.5 million hunters and has opened public access to hunting on over 700,000 acres thanks to the dedicated volunteers, partners and staff.

Robbi Vincent, CEO of the NCSSAA said, "We are very excited to see NWTF and their conservation work reaching out to collegiate shooting sports. Combining the efforts of shooting sports and conservation will only enhance the R3 initiative. It is another great step in growing the student athletes, institutions, and this great industry."

About NCSSAA: The National Collegiate Shooting Sports Athletic Association was founded in 2022 as a subsidiary of FutureU Sports Corp (501c3) and a sister company of the industry leading College Shooting Sports Recruiting. NCSSAA is committed to creating, developing, and growing a premier program for collegiate student athletes and teams while protecting the long-standing history of competitive shooting sports.

About the National Wild Turkey Federation: Since 1973, the National Wild Turkey Federation has invested over half a billion dollars into wildlife conservation and has conserved or enhanced over 22 million acres of critical wildlife habitat. The organization continues to drive wildlife conservation, forest resiliency and robust recreational opportunities throughout the U.S. by working across boundaries on a landscape scale. 2023 is the NWTF’s 50th anniversary and an opportunity to propel the organization's mission into the future while honoring its rich history. For its 50th anniversary, the NWTF has set six ambitious goals: positively impact 1 million acres of wildlife habitat; raise $500,000 for wild turkey research; increase membership to 250,000 members; dedicate $1 million to education and outreach programs; raise $5 million to invest in technology and NWTF people; and raise $5 million to build toward a $50 million endowment for the future.
