Lowrance Angler Wins MLF Bass Pro Tour Championship

Jacob Wheeler Finishes First at Table Rock Lake

Tulsa, Okla. – Lowrance®, a world-leader in fishing electronics since 1957, continued its domination of America’s tournament-fishing circuit as Lowrance Pro Jacob Wheeler won the Major League Fishing (MLF) Bass Pro Tour Stage Seven championship. The event was held on Table Rock Lake in Branson, Missouri, May 31 through June 5.

Armed with Lowrance HDS LIVE displays, Wheeler caught 213 bass weighing 315-pounds, 9-ounces to secure his first victory on the Bass Pro Tour. The Top 10 included four other Lowrance pros including Dustin Connell, Adrian Avena, Scott Suggs and Jesse Wiggins who finished fourth, fifth, seventh and ninth, respectively. An Indiana native, Wheeler became the youngest angler to win the FLW Forrest Wood Cup in 2011 (21 years) and is the only angler to win the first two Bassmaster Elite Series events he fished.

“Some guys were catching them on the banks but I was doing better staying away from shore,” said Wheeler. “This whole week I had to find pieces of structure that the fish were collecting around and relied heavily on my Lowrance HDS LIVE to find them.”
