Advancing Portable Water Infrastructure for Disaster Response
Katadyn Group, a global leader in sustainable hydration, nutrition and cooking solutions, will showcase its latest water infrastructure innovations at Disasters Expo USA, March 5–6, 2025, in Miami. Now in its fourth year, Disasters Expo USA brings together government agencies, industry leaders, first responders, academics and nonprofits dedicated to building safer, more resilient communities. Katadyn Group’s participation reinforces its mission to deliver lifesaving hydration and nutrition solutions for emergency response and recovery efforts worldwide.
Attendees can visit Booth 931 to learn about the company’s highvolume Spectra Aquifer 4000 desalination system, engineered to address critical needs in disaster situations.
“Clean water is essential in disaster response,” said John Wright, strategic partnership manager at Katadyn Desalination. “During Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas, I witnessed firsthand how challenging it was for residents and aid groups to secure safe water. Our solutions address that critical need, and I’m excited to showcase the Aquifer 4000 at the expo — this system is designed to deliver highvolume, reliable water even in the toughest conditions.”
Katadyn Group will also host a seminar titled “Drinking Water Solutions for Disaster Readiness & Response: Portable Reverse Osmosis” on March 5 at 2 p.m. in Seminar Theater 1, where Wright will discuss how innovative water infrastructure solutions can overcome challenges in disaster response and support recovery efforts.
“Our Spectra Aquifer 4000 produces up to 4,300 gallons of fresh water per day from fresh, brackish or seawater sources and is engineered to excel in harsh environments,” said Chris Voxland, president of Katadyn Desalination. “It exemplifies our commitment to delivering robust, portable water solutions critical for disaster relief and recovery.”
In addition, the company will highlight NRG5 emergency food rations, compressed highenergy biscuits developed for use in relief operations during natural or manmade disasters, for emergency preparedness, outdoor activities and as a food supplement. Each 500gram pack includes nine vacuumwelded bars totaling 2,380 kilocalories, meets FDA requirements for vitamins and minerals, and has a 20year shelf life under durable, airsealed packaging.
