SCI's Cyrus Hunter Baird Honored By American Conservation Coalition

Cyrus Hunter Baird, Safari Club International Manager of Government Relations, has been named to this year's "30 Under 30" list selected by the American Conservation Coalition, EarthX and the National Audubon Society for his work in the conservation world.

"The American Conservation Coalition (ACC) is thrilled to announce the winners of 30 Under 30: The Green Generation, a project designed to highlight this generation's leaders who are paving a new way forward on environmental issues," ACC stated. "Working alongside EarthX and the National Audubon Society, ACC is proud to recognize these individuals for their dedication to the cause."

The 30 winners were nominated and selected by their peers for their outstanding work on environmental issues. Winners include innovators in industries ranging from conservation to clean energy to academia and include individuals from a variety of backgrounds and experiences.

Organizations recognized include SCI, 4Ocean, The Nature Conservancy, Coral Vita and National Geographic, alongside many others who are making a difference in their fields.

"Traveling the country and educating people on the positive contributions sportsmen and women make toward our natural resources every day is truly one of my favorite things," said Baird. "I'm lucky I have a career that allows me to do that and I'm even luckier and honored to be highlighted for it."

"ACC is proud to partner with EarthX and Audubon to recognize these outstanding individuals who are leading the way on crucial environmental issues," ACC President Benji Backer said. "EarthX is the perfect place to bring these leaders together for a few days of inspiring and productive conversations on various issues, and we look forward to the progress those dialogues will bring. Their dedication and hard work is making waves, and we are honored to highlight their achievements and to support their efforts in the future."

Baird is a talented natural resources professional combining a Bachelor of Science degree from Clemson University in wildlife and fisheries biology with a background and passion in government relations, policy and grassroots campaigns to advocate for conservation and sportsmen and women around the country.

Prior to joining SCI, Baird worked for Ducks Unlimited, the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership and the Council to Advance Hunting and the Shooting Sports at the local, state and federal levels to help advance pro-sportsmen and conservation legislation, and enact policies that are rooted in sound, science-based management.
