Whitetails Unlimited Grants $11,000 to Youth Outdoor Intro

An $11,000 grant on behalf of the Juniata County, Pennsylvania Whitetails Unlimited Chapter was issued in support of the Home-Town Kids Fishing Derby. The derby takes place in East Waterford, Pennsylvania and plays host to 160 participates which include youth, wounded veterans, and senior citizens. For most of the individuals that partake this will be their first time involved an outdoor related activity.

This is the fourth year of the derby’s existence and it has grown in numbers each year and is free to join. Everyone who participates is outfitted with their own fishing gear to ensure the highest success. The pond is also stocked with multiple species of fish including stripers, bass, and trout. All participating youth are awarded prizes, and there are also trophies for biggest and smallest fish for each age group.
