Federation Angler TV – 2018 World Walleye Championship in Escanaba, MI

As the 2019 World Walleye Championship is quickly approaching next month, we thought we’d take a look back at 2018 where Escanaba, Michigan and Bay De Noc played host to the top walleye teams in the country for this premiere event!

Day 1 of the 2018 World Walleye Championship was a day of “heavyweights.” There is only one way to get a spot into the Cabela’s MWC World Walleye Championship, an angler must qualify to get there – which means everyone competing is a veteran and has proven that they can win at any time. It is a “heavyweight” battle.

The first morning started with “heavyweight” winds in the 20 mph category. It is often said that MWC anglers are the “Toughest Anglers on Planet Earth” and thus these anglers were up to the task and the top weights proved it. Leading Day 1 and setting a very high bar was veteran team of Curtis Oliver, SD and Doug Gallant, MO – without a doubt, they are MWC circuit “heavyweights” and always near the top. They have put themselves into position to win this event on the very first day, or at the very least, they are going to make a great show as all the other teams chase their Day 1 catch of 24.06 pounds!

With two more days of competition to go, anything can happen with this field of anglers, any one of them can catch them, and anyone of them can win...so tune in now on Outdoor Action TV to see how last year’s World Walleye Championship played out and to start getting even more excited for this year’s World Walleye Championship at Lake Winnebago, Oshkosh, Wisconsin in October!

Americana Outdoors – Using Crossbows for Hunting

On this episode of Americana Outdoors, it’s all about hunting with crossbows. We’re giving you an exclusive inside look at how TenPoint Crossbows has evolved the performance of their crossbows into delivering deadly accuracy. From the TenPoint Nitro, Stealth, and Shadow series’, you’re guaranteed to find a model that will deliver what you need.

We’re kicking things off with Wade Middleton, as he takes the TenPoint Nitro X out on an opening day hunt for whitetail over at the Wendlandt ranch, and later, joining him on another hunt deeper into the season. We’re seeing lots of promising deer action on the Stealth Cams, and hoping to see them out in the field. See what kind of impact this incredible crossbow is capable of delivering from 35 yards!

Next, we’re taking a look at how the latest edition of TenPoint Crossbows Stealth NXT performs in the field. First up, Michael Wersig takes the Stealth NXT into a tree stand, hoping to get a good shot off on a whitetail. After Michael has a successful harvest on a doe, cameraman Rusty Weed has his eyes set on a buck when it’s his turn to put the Stealth NXT to good use.

To finish off this episode, we join Wade again, this time with the Nitro XRT. He’s doing some wild hog management efforts, and later, he comes across an animal he’s been dreaming about since the 90’s, the aoudad. Will he have the chance to take one of these majestic animals for himself, or will it elude him once again? Tune in and find out!
