Noted Outdoor Writer Ken Cook Releases New Book

Noted outdoor writer Ken Cook's new book, Return to Wild Country, features short profiles and interviews with President Jimmy Carter, Guy Harvey, Johnny Morris, Jack Wingate, Georgia naturalist Buddy Hopkins and a moving monologue by Eric Dinger of Powder Hook entitled, "An Open Letter to the Anti-Hunter."

There are a total of 65 true outdoors stories in this 284-pager. Ten of Ken's stories have won creative writing awards. He's also been a long-time pillar of Fishing Tackle Retailer Magazine.

There are sections with multiple stories on women in the outdoors, mentoring kids and disabled youth, conservation, and ample features on fishing, wild turkey, bobwhite quail, mourning doves, rabbits and squirrels, and the harvest of a 673-pound Georgia black bear.

For sportsmen who like to cook what they catch and kill, retired Carolina home economist Elaine Harvell adds a bushel basket of old family recipes such as Sneads Ferry Fish Stew, Drunken Duck Bites, Elk Stroganoff, Annie Fay Norris' Grape Hull Pie and many other delights.

A mixture of ethos and pathos, this book is loaded with quick-read outdoor stories that will entertain and inform all members of your family. The book is available in soft cover as well as an e-book. The soft cover is available from Amazon.com for $16.95 and the e-book is priced at $3.95 from Apple iBooks.
