Beretta 694 Over-and-Under Receives “2020 Editor’s Choice” Award

(Accokeek, MD) Beretta is pleased to announce that the Beretta 694 over-and-under competition shotgun has received the “2020 Editor’s Choice” Award for Best Shotgun from Outdoor Life magazine. This esteemed award is based upon repeated and rigorous testing by the magazine’s editors, and each category showcases some of the most anticipated and popular new products for the year.

The official award announcement noted that, “[the 694] is a beautifully balanced shotgun that swings with authority and handled the recoil of 1?1⁄8-ounce sporting clays loads with ease. The understated metalwork has just the right amount of flash, the wood is lovely, and the overall attention to detail makes this an heirloom-quality firearm.”

“The 694 is the result of a collaboration between some of the most successful competitors in shooting sports history and the most experienced firearms company in the world. The principle of design to purpose and attention to detail gives an edge to the 694 shooter, whether you shoot for trophies or just for fun,” Phillip Jones, Premium Guns, Rifles, and Ammunition Product Manager, said.

The new Beretta 694 over-and-under platform was explicitly created for clay shooting and designed and tested in collaboration with the Beretta Shooting Team. The 694 features redesigned ergonomics that reduce visual obstacles in the field of view when shouldering the gun, a slightly decreased drop, improved checkering on the safety, and a wider comb for an improved face placement regardless of the shooting position.

The ergonomics of the stock have been completely redesigned to reduce the presence of obstacles in the field of view when shouldering the gun and the need for head lifting to better track the lower target. The 694 showcases a slightly decreased drop, improved checkering on the safety, and a wider comb for an improved face placement regardless of the shooting position.

The redesigned, self-adjustable auget button reduces the forend’s movement over time and reduces the surface area that may get overheated during long days on the range.

The redesigned stock is available with drops of 35/50 mm and 35/55mm, and the latter also features a B-Fast adjustable heel and a round or Schnabel forend. It also features a length-of-pull of 375 mm with an 18 mm MicroCore® recoil pad and centrally positioned trigger.

The pistol grip has been designed with an aggressive checkering and increased surface area that guarantees the best possible grip and a better hand position. The steel top lever features a new, low profile with an anti-glare finish designed to be ergonomic and easy to operate for both right and left-handed shooters. The newly designed ejectors are fitted with powerful springs positioned behind the ejector slide and under the stop pads.

The Beretta 694 is available in a 12 gauge caliber, 30” and 32” barrel lengths (with or without the adjustable B-Fast stock), and retails for an MSRP of $4,500.
