AZGFD working on alternatives

An agreement that allowed public access to the Powers Butte Wildlife Area along Robbins Butte Game Road in Buckeye expired on November 10, 2025. The gate, indicated with a pin on the above map, is now closed to the public. The Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) is working to establish alternative access to the wildlife area and the public will be updated if any changes occur.

The Arizona Game and Fish Department receives no general fund tax dollars. The majority of funding to manage more than 800 native wildlife species comes from Arizona's hunters and anglers.
