IGFA Announces Search for Executive Director

DANIA BEACH, FL The International Game Fish Association (IGFA) today announced it is searching for an Executive Director to manage the day-to-day operations of the leading conservation-based recreational angling organization.

“As we continue to implement our new three-year strategy, we believe the time is right to add new management capability and capacity at the senior staff level,” said IGFA Chairman Charles W. Duncan III. “In this new role, the Executive Director will focus primarily on managing the internal operations of the organization, which will allow IGFA President Nehl Horton to spend more time focused on our external constituents, including donors, corporate partners and IGFA representatives and members around the world.”

Reporting to the IGFA President, the Executive Director will be responsible for the association’s ongoing operations, including developing and funding programs and initiatives that advance the IGFA’s vision and mission. The Executive Director will oversee the IGFA’s senior staff, facilitate the execution the IGFA’s comprehensive business strategy across all departments, and be accountable for the market positioning, organizational health, financial security and technological readiness of the IGFA.

The IGFA is seeking candidates with a BA or BS degree in business, nonprofit management, finance, marketing, communications, marine/aquatic sciences, conservation or sustainability. A Master’s degree in one of these fields is preferred. The successful candidate will have a minimum 10-15 years of experience in a management role at a nonprofit organization, commercial enterprise, marketing agency, trade association, or an academic or scientific institution with proven capability in successfully developing and implementing long-term strategies that deliver against annual financial, marketing and organizational growth objectives. International experience is preferred. Finally, a demonstrated passion for recreational angling and an existing network in the recreational angling industry and community are strongly preferred.
