The Gulf Council will hold a meeting of its Outreach and Education Technical Committee (Committee) on December 11, 2025, from 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM EST. The meeting will be held at the Council offices located at 4107 West Spruce Street, Suite 200, Tampa, Florida 33607.
The Committee will start by reviewing a new management area mapping tool and discussing progress and next steps towards getting regulatory boundaries added to mapping tools used by fishermen. The Committee will then review communications recommendations made through the Council’s Recreational Initiative and prioritize work and suggest tactics to accomplish each recommendation. The Committee will then hear an update on the Sea Grant Reef Fish Extension efforts and review and make recommendations on the Council’s anonymous voicemail comment pilot.
Next, the Committee will discuss learning opportunities during regularly scheduled Council meetings. The Committee will also review and provide recommendations on a contractor’s proposed Stakeholder Engagement and Communications Plan for the Council’s Ecosystem Based Fisheries Management Projects. Finally, the Committee will review 2025 Council communication analytics and suggest outreach projects for 2026.
