Peak Global Holdings, LLC Acquires Assets of Maurice Sporting Goods
Peak Global Holdings, LLC, is excited to announce that it has purchased the fishing and marine assets of Maurice Sporting Goods.
Peak’s purchase includes the private brand business operated under the name Big Game International, as well as the distribution business conducted under Maurice Sporting Goods. Brands acquired include Ready2Fish, South Bend, Hurricane, Danielson, Matzuo, Worm Gear, Shoreline, and Propel, as well as the trade name Maurice Sporting Goods.
The Maurice distribution business will be integrated into Peak’s Big Rock Sports distribution company, and the Big Game International segment will become part of Peak’s Bluefield Brands company. Peak is retaining a significant portion of the Maurice employees as part of this transaction, and will retain offices in Northbrook, IL and Bentonville, AR. In addition, the current Maurice distribution center in Reno, NV will remain and become the main distribution point for all former Maurice / Big Game shipments.
Since 1923, Maurice has grown from a push-cart vendor selling musical instruments, to a retail store on Maxwell Street in Chicago selling sporting goods, to one of the largest sporting goods distributors in the world. Maurice Sporting Goods became a leader in the outdoor sporting goods retail industry by providing effective merchandising and retail support through state-of-the-art technology, efficient distribution and exceptional customer service.
