Oklahoma S3DA Hosts 3-D State Championship

Williamsburg, KY – Trosper Archery Club located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma hosted the Oklahoma S3DA 3D State Championship. Trosper Archery Club was founded in 1949 by a group of Central Oklahoma archers with the same core principles and mission as S3DA. Both programs (Trosper Archery Club and S3DA) foster education, provide safety and adequate training pertaining to the sport of archery. Oklahoma S3DA archers from across the state competed in the 3D State Championship for their chance to qualify for the upcoming S3DA 3-D National Championship. “I always enjoy getting to participate in the S3DA events. The community that I have found with these people will last a lifetime,” stated S3DA student archer, Colton Ingersoll.

“The Oklahoma S3DA 3D State Championship ran smoothly with the help of the volunteers from Trosper Archery Club, from target set-up to target take-down. It was a delight to reward the younger archers and high schoolers for their performance on the course with medals and scholarships. Through the generosity of the supporting colleges and universities we awarded thousands of dollars in scholarships to the top 3 finishers in the Young Adult classes. S3DA is a real game changer for kids desiring to attend college while continuing their archery career,” stated Oklahoma S3DA State Coordinator, Brent Simmons.

Oklahoma S3DA staff would like to thank the colleges and universities from across the United States that sent college scholarship certificates to be handed out to the young adult 1st-3rd podium place finishers. Those schools included: Connors State College, Campbellsville University, Union College, Lindsey Wilson College, Kentucky Christian University, University of the Cumberland’s, and Georgetown College. Oklahoma S3DA will now look forward to their State Outdoor Target Championship coming up on June 26th, 2021.

About Scholastic 3-D Archery

Scholastic 3-D Archery (S3DA) is a unique, family-oriented youth archery program which has grown exponentially across the United States as a next-step initiative to follow introductory archery programs. The mission of the Scholastic

3-D Archery program is to foster, educate and guide youth in the areas of 3-D, indoor target, and outdoor target archery as well as safe, ethical bowhunting practices. The goal of the S3DA program is to provide archery and bowhunting opportunities to youth in after-school settings, as well as with archery-affiliated clubs and businesses in the community. S3DA students participate in 3-D and target archery using compound and traditional archery equipment. Students can participate at regional, state, and national archery events and earn college scholarships from colleges and universities across the United States. S3DA addresses the need for a program to bridge beginning target archery experience and more advanced activities such as 3-D shooting and bowhunting. The program currently operates across the United States with hundreds of certified coaches serving thousands of young archers.
