Leica Sport Optics has a longstanding tradition of quality, excellence and cultural competence. We’re looking for a Director Sales Sport Optics. The ideal candidate will have a proven record of sales success with national accounts (including chain stores) in the outdoor/hunting market.

This is a full-time position with a comprehensive benefits package. Based in our Allendale, NJ Office or Remote Office, this position reports to the President where frequent domestic and occasional international travel is required.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute sales strategy to achieve short-term, long-term, sustained, significant and measurable business growth.
  • Lead, coach, develop and motivate the Sales team to maximize sales including setting goals and objectives for the sales team.
  • Responsible for budget, FC and sales activity planning
  • Develop and retain a high performing sales team in the US
  • Lead and direct sales account activities including actively selling Leica’s products and routinely visiting key accounts.
  • Lead routine sales meetings as an opportunity for territory planning and identifying what is needed to succeed including team building exercises for the Leica Sales Team.
  • Work closely and define strategies with Marketing to ensure effective generation of sales leads.
  • Act as main contact to the German Head Quarter with regards to customer needs, market opportunities and product road-maps.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 10 years sales management experience
  • Previous outdoor experience required
  • Strong leadership mentality
  • Desire to be hands-on and get things done
  • Desire to be a team player and work in a collaborative environment
  • Must be able to work unrestricted in the US
