The Interagency Grizzly Bear Committee (IGBC) is accepting grant applications from organizations seeking to promote bear education and conflict reduction.
The IGBC's Information, Education & Outreach grants are intended for organizations working to disseminate consistent messaging about grizzly bears, promote effective bear?human conflict reduction techniques, and support grizzly bear recovery and conservation in the western U.S.
Grant Details & Eligibility
- The IGBC anticipates that approximately $43,000 will be available for funding in 2026, though final award amounts will depend on agency funding levels.
- Eligible applicants include qualified nonprofit organizations, associations, cities or counties, and federal, state, or tribal entities. Projects must be focused on grizzly bear conservation, located in or near at least one IGBC grizzly bear ecosystem, and consistent with the IGBC mission.
- Applicants are encouraged to strengthen proposals by partnering with other organizations, providing matching or in?kind contributions, creating projects that are applicable across multiple ecosystems, or benefiting multiple agencies or jurisdictions.
Key Dates & Requirements
- Application deadline (close of business): Oct. 27, 2025
- Successful applicants will be announced during the IGBC winter meeting in December.
- Projects funded by this program must submit interim progress reports (due June 15) and final reports (due October 1). New projects will not be awarded without completion of final reports from previous grants.
