TrueTimber’s Edwin Evers Notches Third Top-Five Finish, Leads MLF Bass Pro Tour Points Race

INMAN, S.C. – April 3, 2019 – Professional angler and TrueTimber brand ambassador Edwin Evers wrapped up the Major League Fishing (MLF) Bass Pro Tour Stage Three last weekend in fourth place, giving him three top-five finishes for the season. With a second-place finish in Stage One, a dominating win in Stage Two and fourth in the latest Stage Three, Evers currently has the most points on MLF’s Bass Pro Tour.

“We’re extremely proud to have such a talented angler, hunter and all-around great person representing TrueTimber and our new fishing product line,” said TrueTimber CEO Rusty Sellars. “Edwin’s experience, knowledge and input is so valuable to our team and product development process. His performance on the water speaks for itself, and having him working with us will definitely help us achieve more this year and down the road.”

Evers had a dominating performance in February during the Bass Pro Tour Stage Two on Lake Conroe, claiming Championship Sunday with a weight of 51 lbs., 12 oz. for the win. The Oklahoma pro caught 24 scorable fish on the final day, including an 8 lbs., 1oz. fish with 9 minutes left on the clock.

“Edwin is as good as they come, and 2019 is turning out to be a big year for him,” added Sellars. “It’s well-deserved. With three top-five finishes already in the bag, we’re looking forward to watching Edwin do what he does best during the rest of the Bass Pro Tour.”

“I’m really excited about Major League Fishing, and it's kind of reinvigorated my career,” said Evers after finishing fourth on Sunday. “I’m ate up with it right now. I'm enjoying it again, and it's been a long time since I've enjoyed it. I’m just having a lot of fun, making good decisions, and having fun catching them. It's humbling to be able to have three [Top Fives] like that, I don't know what to say about it. I'm just going to be thankful for three great tournaments, which I am.”

A sponsor of the MLF Bass Pro Tour, TrueTimber has debuted a new television commercial featuring Evers that will air during MLF Live coverage. It will also hit the airwaves when MLF comes to television and cable networks later this year. The commercial can be viewed here.

The Bass Pro Tour will head to Dayton, Tennessee on April 9-14 for Stage Four of the 2019 season. Lake Chickamauga will host bass fishing’s newest and highest-profile tournament series, featuring 80 of the best professional anglers in the country.
