SIG’s P365 Featured in October’s GUNS Magazine

SIG SAUER’s P365 has carved its own niche in the 9mm category and earns praise for its slim design, EDC capability and ample capacity. It’s featured in the October issue of GUNS Magazine.

Ten total testers makes the math easy for the P365: All give the trigger pull high marks, 90 percent like the X-Ray3 sights and nearly half purchased one after testing. Accuracy was confirmed with SIG’s 124-gr. V-Crown JHP which put five shots into 1.5 inches at 25 yards. An unheralded feature, its barrel sits above a full-length guide rod allowing the assembly to stay in battery when the muzzle is pressed straight in against resistance — the necessary hard-contact shot in last-ditch defensive shooting.

Contributing Editor Massad Ayoob offers, “More subcompacts than not will go out of battery and fail in that kill-or-be-killed situation. The P365 will let you make this shot.”

Self-described “handgun guy,” Publisher Roy Huntington sings the praises of Nosler’s M48 Long-Range Rifle. Simply put, it checks all the boxes with Nosler’s solid reputation at the foundation. Roy lends, “Buy it. Sight it in. Learn to shoot it. Go hunting. If you see an elk in the scope and you do your part, you’ll be eating well.”

A unique prize tops this month’s Gun Of The Month giveaway package. The one-of-a-kind .22 LR from North American Arms features 24K gold details and a custom “GUNS2018” serial number. A cylinder conversion allows it to be used in .22 Magnum too. The winner will also receive 800 rounds of Browning Performance Rimfire ammunition, a Ghostrike Fixed Blade Deluxe Kit from Gerber Gear and Shotgun & Choke Tube Cleaner and All Weather High-Tech Grease from Shooter’s Choice. Altogether, the prize package is valued at $1,053! Readers are invited to enter the drawing for free by visiting www.gunsmagazine.com/giveaway

Rounding out the issue, October’s “Optics” column offers a vocabulary lesson in new-scope tech-talk. Jeff “Tank” Hoover suggests a bit of lead-therapy to cast away your blues in the “Think Tank” installment. And leave it to Will Dabbs, MD, to dabble with a Barrett M82A1. “It’s an expensive way to dispose of unwanted yard maintenance,” he says, “but nothing does it better.”

Mike “Duke” Venturino dishes on the early years of Smith & Wesson’s N-Frames — October’s exclusive Online Feature. The October issue of GUNS is on newsstands now with a digital version available for purchase online atwww.gunsmagazine.com/digital-version
