Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation Issues COVID-19 Update

Dear CSF Friends,

As we continue to grasp the impact COVID-19 has had on our nation, here at the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF), our aim will continue to be to make a positive impact for our America’s sportsmen’s community during these challenging times.

What was once considered ‘normal’ has now become ‘abnormal’ but we must not waver and risk losing the rights we, as sportsmen and women, have fought so hard to achieve. I want to ensure all of you that CSF is continuing to be engaged at both the federal and state levels, where applicable, effecting policy that allows us the opportunity to continue enjoying our outdoor traditions. Just recently, Department of Secretary David Bernhardt announced the suspension of all entrance fees at national parks and CSF is communicating with the Administration and state natural resource agencies on the importance of also keeping public boat ramps, fishing accesses, hiking trails, large conservation management areas open to the American public so that they may be able to enjoy these benefits while ‘social distancing’.

CSF remains committed to ensuring the health and safety of our employees, partners and supporters. Per the recent CDC guidelines, we have taken the following necessary steps and will continue to monitor, assess and modify our plan as the situation concerning COVID-19 evolves:

  • Effective this past Monday, the CSF DC office will be closed through March 27th and all staff has been instructed to telework during this time;
  • All CSF federal, state, and regional events taking place in March and April (with the exception of an event in Alabama still planned for April 29) have been postponed until further notice. We are in the process of rescheduling the Ladies Day on the Range, the Louisiana Crawfish for Conservation Reception, and the Illinois Reception and we will share those new dates as soon as they are finalized;
  • We are anticipating to resume our federal event schedule with the Congressional Clays Competition at PG County Trap & Skeet on Tuesday, May 12th.

We understand the critical nature of this situation and want to ensure each and every one of you that CSF remains committed to our outdoor heritage. Our staff is working diligently in continuing to advance CSF’s mission at the federal and state levels during this time and we will continue to provide you updates on this evolving situation. As a reminder of why we’re so passionate about conservation and protecting our outdoor traditions for future generations, please take a minute to view this short video.

Thank you again for everything you do, and will continue to do for CSF. I hope everyone remains safe and vigilant as we overcome this health crisis together.

Sincerely,

Jeff Crane

President
