Mossy Oak Fishing Team Pros Comprise 8 Bassmaster Classic Championships Heading Into 2019 Classic

March 2019

WEST POINT, MS - Mossy Oak came into the outdoor industry as a camouflage company 30+ years ago and expanded to include other companies under the Mossy Oak brand. In 2017, Mossy Oak launched Mossy Oak Fishing and introduced its fishing pattern, Elements Agua, and partnered with Bassmaster, becoming the official pattern of Bassmaster and the title sponsor of the Bassmaster High School Fishing Series. Today three of Mossy Oak's fishing pros include these Bassmaster Classic winners: Jordan Lee (2017 and 2018); Kevin VanDam (2001, 2005, 2010 and 2011); and Hank Parker (1979 and 1989).

Kevin VanDam

Four-time Bassmaster Classic champion and seven-time Bassmaster Angler of the Year champion, Kevin VanDam will be making his 28th Bassmaster Classic Appearance. VanDam has been with the Mossy Oak Fishing Team since its inception.

"I was the first angler to join the Mossy Oak Fishing Team," said VanDam. "This decision was easy, due to Mossy Oak's mindset and values, which were the same as mine - family, the outdoors, conservation and the traditions of hunting and fishing. When I'm not fishing, I'm hunting in Mossy Oak camouflage that my boys and I have worn for our entire hunting careers. So, wearing Mossy Oak's patterns while fishing has been natural for me. I'm comfortable being a part of Mossy Oak, a company best defined by its people from Toxey Haas, the creator, to the people wearing Mossy Oak patterns. We all have the same responsibility to be good stewards of the land, the fish, the animals and support future sportsmen. I feel fortunate to be a part of the Mossy Oak family and know I'll have that same relationship with the company forever."

Jordan Lee

Back-to-back Bassmaster Classic champion, Jordan Lee will be competing in his fifth Classic. The spotlight is on him to see if he can "threepeat."

Jordan was added to the Mossy Oak Fishing Team shorty after it was started. When asked about his involvement, Lee explained, "Although I have a passion for everything outdoors, I'm strongest at bass fishing, having had little time to hunt. However, these last two years I've spent time with some great hunters at Mossy Oak, folks who know I love turkey hunting. The Mossy Oak Fishing Team is made up of some of the best bass fishermen anywhere. Mossy Oak always has had a passion for everything outdoors and has acted on its passion for fishing. This company is also interested in my strongest beliefs: being involved in conservation, growing the outdoor sports and working with young people. Our fishing team enables Mossy Oak to get more involved with anglers. I feel fortunate to represent the Mossy Oak brand."

Hank Parker

Two-time Bassmaster Classic champion, Mossy Oak Fishing team member, and host of "Hank Parker's Flesh & Blood," will be on-site at the Bassmaster Classic, but will not be competing. Parker will be making an appearance at the Mossy Oak Fishing booth throughout the weekend.

Parker started his professional career as a pro angler and then evolved as a competitor and a television show host from there.

"I've always been proud to work with Mossy Oak, a family company, with Toxey Haas, his children and his employees all functioning as one with the same beliefs, goals and mission," said Parker. "When Mossy Oak first came out with its camouflage, people wore it for concealment and to identify with what Mossy Oak meant outdoors. Today you'll see people in airports wearing all Mossy Oak patterns, including Mossy Oak Elements Agua to signify that they belong to this outdoor family of fishermen and hunters. Anglers need to identify with a company like Mossy Oak that believes in family values, conservation, patriotism and God - the things important in life that go far beyond catching a fish or harvesting an animal. Mossy Oak is interested in and supports young people and the future of fishing, as is shown by the growth in its high school and college fishing programs. Mossy Oak wants to ensure the preservation and growth of the sport of fishing, which has been so important in my family's lives. I wear Elements Blue Agua pattern and others on my TV shows, 'Hank Parker TV.' Mossy Oak unites sportsmen who all believe in the same cause and have the same values."
