Reservation Date Changes for Some Block Management Areas in South-Central Montana

Block Management is a cooperative program between private landowners and Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks that helps landowners manage hunting activities and provides the public with free hunting access to private land.

Some Type 2 Block Management Areas (BMAs) in south-central Montana are updating their reservation dates for the 2025 season. Please see details for affected BMAs below.

Miller/Jackstone, BMA 163: Reservations for this property will open on Friday, Aug. 22. After Aug. 22, reservations will only be taken on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. To make a reservation at this property, call the Region 5 front office at 406-247-2940.
Shulz Ranch, BMA 214: Reservations for this property will open on Friday, Aug. 22. After Aug. 22, reservations will only be taken on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. To make a reservation at this property, call the Region 5 front office at 406-247-2940.
Diamond X Farms, BMA 63: Reservations for both units of this property will open on Tuesday, Aug. 26. After Aug. 26, reservations will only be taken on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Hunters will have a permission slip for this property and will also need to sign in at the roster book for each hunt. Griffith-Shawmut, BMA 169: Reservations for this property will open on Monday, Aug. 11, and reservations will be taken every day of the week following. This property will be limited to eight hunters or three parties per day. To make a reservation at this property, call Region 5 Hunting Access Specialist Zach Menegat at 406-698-0288.
Robuck Ranch, BMA 223: This is a new Block Management property for the 2025 season. Reservations for this property will open on Tuesday, Aug. 26. After Aug. 26, reservations will only be taken on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Reservations will only be taken for upland bird hunting, but no pheasant hunting is allowed on the property. Big game hunters can access the property via a sign-in box and do not need to make reservations.
