South Carolina WMA's Closed Due to Hurricane Flooding

Officials with the S.C. Department of Natural Resources announced on Monday, September 17, 2018, that the following SCDNR-managed properties in the Pee Dee region of the state will be closed to all vehicle traffic until further notice due to flooding connected to Hurricane Florence.

The following Heritage Preserves in SCDNR’s Region 4 and region 2 are closed until further notice effective at 1PM on 9/17/2018. Flooding is currently occurring on these properties and many roads are already impassable.

Lewis Ocean Bay Heritage Preserve/WMA

Waccamaw River Heritage Preserve/WMA

Little Pee Dee River Heritage Preserve/WMA

Great Pee Dee Heritage Preserve/WMA

Segars-McKinnon Heritage Preserve

In addition:

Effective at 12 noon on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, Marsh WMA will be closed to public access.

Effective at 12 noon on Friday September 21, 2018, Woodbury WMA will be closed to public access.

Public access will be allowed when flood waters retreat and these properties are considered safe.
