Second Annual State 3D Archery Championship Results

Recently held in Cullman, Ala., the 2019 National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP)/International Bowhunting Association (IBO) Alabama 3D State Championship showcased some of the best student archery teams from throughout the state. During the event, 264 archers from 26 schools competed for top honors and the opportunity to advance to the NASP Eastern National Championship on May 9-11, 2019, in Louisville, Ky.

The NASP Alabama IBO/3D State Championship is an offshoot of the popular Alabama NASP State Championship, which takes place in Montgomery, Ala., on April 4-5, 2019. While similar to standard target archery, what sets 3D archery apart is the use of animal-shaped targets.

Scoring is based on Olympic-style, target archery in three divisions – elementary, middle and high school. Competition is on team and individual levels. Perfect scores are 3,600 points for teams and 300 for individuals.

The Alabama Division of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries (WFF) coordinated event was held at the Cullman Civic Center on March 22-23, in cooperation with the Cullman parks and recreation department.
