SITKA Gear announces Bronze-Level Sponsor of 2018 Wyoming Women's Antelope Hunt

LARAMIE, WY- From snow to sun to rain to wind, SITKA Gear knows hunters' clothing needs to stand up to all seasons and conditions. The Wyoming Women's Antelope Hunt demonstrates this need, having placed hunters amidst a blizzard in the year of its inception and experiencing all types of Wyoming's unpredictable weather since. Ready to put SITKA Gear's clothing to the test, the 2018 Wyoming Women's Antelope Hunt is excited to welcome SITKA Gear as a bronze-level sponsor.

With a reputation for innovative design and cutting-edge technology, SITKA Gear debuted its new line of women's high-performance hunting gear in 2017. The new line of women's clothing was developed by women, for women, over the course of three years. The head to toe, skin to shell, women's SITKA system is designed to enhance rather than inhibit women's movement while hunting.

"We are excited for SITKA to bring in women's-specific hunting clothing for our participants," said Gloria Courser, past hunter and hunt committee member, "Having the right clothing in terms of cut and functionality is key when you're engaging in an active pursuit like hunting antelope where our hunters will be belly-crawling through the sagebrush."

This year's hunt will be held Oct. 11-14, 2018 and bring together close to 40 female hunters from across the nation at the Ranch at Ucross in northeast Wyoming for a weekend of hunting, learning, mentorship and camaraderie, as well as raising funds and awareness for the Wyoming Women's Foundation.

Abby Atol, event marketer for SITKA gear, will be attending the hunt for the first time this year.

"My first successful hunt was an antelope, an experience I'm excited to share with other women,"," said Atol, "There is no better feeling than harvesting an animal that will feed my household for the winter."

SITKA Gear makes every effort to support the female hunter, and that does not end with providing the best gear possible. SITKA's sponsorship of the Wyoming Women's Antelope Hunt will help to recruit and train new female hunters as well as support the Wyoming Women's Foundation's mission. Since inception, the hunt has raised more than $345,000 for special projects to help women and girls work toward economic self-sufficiency across Wyoming. Not only do funds raised at the hunt support research and programs across Wyoming that help women to achieve economic self-sufficiency, teaching a woman to hunt can directly impact her family's self-sufficiency in terms of access to high quality, nutritional food.

Please visit the Wyoming Women's Antelope Hunt web page at wyomingwomensantelopehunt.org for more information on sponsorship and individual participation, including scholarships. Based on its level contribution, each sponsor will have the opportunity to invite women to hunt at the event. The foundation is also seeking dinner sponsors and in-kind donations for its fundraising auctions on Oct. 12.
