Camping fees apply at Ackley Lake State Park

GREAT FALLS – Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks is notifying visitors to Ackley Lake State Park that nightly camping fees for both residents and nonresidents will be collected in the park beginning May 17, 2024. Fees are collected in all Montana State Parks offering camping, and the funds generated support operations and maintenance work in the parks. Instructions for payment and a fee drop box are located at the kiosk at the park entrance.

Ackley Lake State Park is located adjacent to the 226-acre Ackley Lake, about 25 miles west of Lewistown. The park offers recreational opportunities for both day use and overnight visitors including camping, boating, fishing, swimming, birdwatching, and picnicking, and has 26 first-come first-served campsites, a designated swimming area, and two boat launches.

2024 camping fee information:

Peak Season: May 17 - Sept. 15

MT Resident= $18/night

MT Resident Senior/Disabled/Veteran= $9/night

Non-Resident= $28/night

Off Season: Sept. 16 – May 15, 2025

MT Resident= $14/night

MT Resident Senior/Disabled/Veteran= $7/night

Non-Resident= $24/night

For Montana residents who pay the state parks fee with their annual vehicle registration and are day-use only visitors, there is no daily entrance fee.
