Board to Consider Applicants for Upcoming Arizona Game and Fish Commission Vacancy

The Arizona Game and Fish Commission Appointment Recommendation Board will meet at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23, to review the list of applicants for the governor’s appointment to fill a 2025 vacancy on the Arizona Game and Fish Commission.

Those candidates who are selected for interview will do so at the board's Nov. 6 public meeting in Phoenix beginning at 9 a.m.

The Oct. 23 meeting will be held at the Game and Fish Department headquarters, Quail Room, 5000 W. Carefree Highway in Phoenix. The public is invited to attend the meeting in person or listen in at the number and access code listed on the agenda. Those persons wishing to speak to the board during the Call to the Public portion of the agenda (available only to those attending in person) should complete a speaker’s card and present it to the host. Unless prior approval has been granted by the chairperson, comments will be limited to no more than three minutes.

Per Arizona Revised Statute 17-202, the Arizona Game and Fish Commission Appointment Recommendation Board shall assist the governor by interviewing, evaluating and recommending candidates for appointment to the Arizona Game and Fish Commission. The board shall recommend at least two, but no more than five, candidates to the governor. The governor must select and appoint a commissioner from the list submitted by the board.
