Noisy pigs, spearfishing invasives and big bass in LSON

DALLAS — The March 22 issue of Lone Star Outdoor News is available for download today, and the issue includes a 16-page Fishing Texas insert.

Feral hogs communicate with more than 20 different vocalizations, and a Texas man has recorded hundreds of hogs, using those sounds to call them in effectively. Turkey season opened in South Texas, and some toms came to the jake decoys, often quietly.

A group of spearfishermen head beneath the surface to rid river systems of invasive fish, while Texas reservoirs are producing big bass and the black drum run is in swing along the Texas coast.

The Fishing Texas insert dives into the mystique of the other-worldly Caddo Lake and its big bass; and includes information on boats, gear and fishing destinations.
